Hi! My name is Angela Cattin and I am a kindergarten teacher at Grant. I have been teaching for 16 years and have taught both fifth grade and kindergarten.  I love spending time with my husband and 2 sons, Brett and Caleb, cheering on the Cal football and basketball teams, traveling (especially to Hawaii), baking, and crafting!

College
I went to UC Santa Cruz and majored in psychology with a minor in education. I then went on to receive my teaching credential and Masters in Education at UC Santa Cruz.

District Tools I Use 

Attendance 
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App.

Report Cards
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook 
As a kindergarten teacher, I do not plan to use an online Gradebook.  Please contact me at any time throughout the school year to check in or set up a meeting regarding your child’s academic and social progress.

Other Tools I Use 
I love taking pictures and often post photos of what is going on in our classroom to a private Instagram account (@mrscattin).

I am also constantly learning and trying out new ways to integrate technology in my classroom.  In the past, my kindergarten students have learned the beginning of coding, have created virtual storybooks by adding their narration to stories they have written, and how to use QR codes as a quick link to websites.  All of these things can also be accessed at home and I will send home more information as things come up throughout the school year.  We also utilize Seesaw as a platform to complete and submit independent work.
