Welcome to Ms. Grashton's Teacher Page
I have been teaching for over ten years now, all from preschool to third-grade. This is my third year teaching third grade, and I couldn't be more excited to be here at Grant! I was born and raised in Sacramento and have called the Bay Area my home for over 15 years. I live with my family in Oakland.
I am a life-long learner. I love to read and learn about new things, as well as deepen my understanding of children and their unique and individual styles of learning. Working with and being around children opens my eyes to ideas and experiences in a new way!
I went to New College of California for my Bachelor's degree in Humanities. While there, one of my most fascinating research projects was on homeless families and their access to education. After that, I attended Mills College. There I received my Masters in Early Childhood Education and earned my multiple subject teaching credential.
District Tools I Use
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App.
Sangha Interactive App
I will be relying on the Sangha app to communicate with families in a protected, password-protected environment. Please download the app and log in using the parent-guardian email that was used for enrollment or data confirmation. This app is extremely helpful for making and keeping track of parent teacher conferences and other communication needs!
I use Google Classroom to assign classwork assignments. Occasionally, there will also be work assigned there for students to complete at home. I will also include important links to our math program and additional reading resources. If you would like access to our Google Classroom, I can invite you as a guardian. Please email me with your request and email address.
